coaches

While our coaches have their own unique styles, we are committed to teaching.  Coaches Bergen, Kemp, Kozey and Maguire will return this summer along with our "college player assistant coaches".  We believe that continuity is important.  We are always looking for new ideas, but see value in returning coaches that are familiar with YOU.

Jessica bergen

Jessica Bergen is entering her second season as head coach at Trinity College.  Bergen came to Trinity from Westfield State University, where she led the Owls to Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference titles in 2014 and 2021. She also guided Westfield State to a runner-up finish in the Little East Conference in 2017 and was named the Little East Coach of the Year for her efforts that fall.  Bergen graduated from Skidmore College with a bachelor's degree in exercise science, where she ranks among the top 50 goal scorers all-time for the Thoroughbreds, and also owns a master's degree in exercise science from Springfield College.

christine kemp

Christine Kemp is entering her 6th season as head coach at Wesleyan University.  Previously, at Castleton University, Christine was named Little East Conference Coach of the Year in 2018.  Kemp earned her bachelor's degree from Skidmore in 2011 following a decorated four-year playing career.   Kemp was named a three-time NFHCA All-American, three-time Liberty League Player of the Year, and two-time NFHCA North Atlantic Player of the Year.

Katie kozey

Katie Kozey returns for her 5th summer with us.  Kozey is the goalkeeper coach for Trinity College, and has also worked with the goalkeepers at Eastern Connecticut State University.  She was an assistant coach for several years at Simsbury High School where she was named Assistant Coach of the Year in 2022.  Kozey was a four year starter as goalkeeper for Brown University.  She is an associate professor of criminal justice at Western New England University.

madison maguire

Madison Maguire will join us for her 5th summer.  A 2020 graduate and standout at the University of Maryland, Madison has represented the USA national team and is currently an Assistant Coach at Harvard University.  As a student-athlete, Maguire earned a NFHCA All-American selection in 2019 and a pair of NFHCA All-Mid-Atlantic region selections.

CLAIRE JANDeWERTH

Claire is a member of the Nottingham Field Hockey team which won the English professional league championship this fall.  She was an All-American player and captain at UCONN and participant in our Exchange Program with the Mannheim Hockey Club in Germany.

Claire was nominated as NCAA Woman of the Year in 2022  and has worked as one of our coaches for four years.  She is coming all the way from Germany to work with us because she loves our clinic and our way of coaching the game.
