Victory day

In 1945 the decree was signed that May 9 became a state holiday and a day off. However, already in 1948, Victory Day became a working day. Parades and festive events were resumed only in 1965. At this time, the holiday on May 9 was finally again a day off. The first Victory Day was celebrated as never before in history. On the streets people hugged and kissed each other. Many cried. In the evening of May 9 in Moscow was given the salute of Victory, the largest in the history of the USSR: thirty volleys of a thousand guns. Since that time Victory Day has been and remained one of the most important and revered holidays in Russia and the CIS.

Our city is no exception. In Uzhursky District people solemnly celebrate the victory over Nazi Germany in the 1941-1945 Great Patriotic War years. This holiday is celebrated on 9 May. In Uzhur parades, action "Immortal regiment", concert take place. Parade of military equipment on the Red Square in Moscow. It is customary here to honor war veterans, help them and congratulate them, especially on the great day of victory. To date, there are only 8 veterans of the Great Patriotic War in the Uzhur region, which is half as much compared to last year. This is grieving information.

But the memory of the people who fought for the future of their people remains in us to this day. On May 9, parades and charity events are held, fireworks are sparkling, everyone is happy with the victory of the last century. In our city, this event is prepared in advance. Organizations and companies prepare events, people wear St. George ribbons all week long in memory of those who died in the war. To congratulate the veterans on May 9 is the duty of every person, but, perhaps, the most valuable and pleasant gift for them will be care for the whole year, and not just on May 9. Do not forget about those who have gone down for good and gone through difficult times for our peace of mind.
