Why The CROC Party Supports Jim Christiana

By Benjamin Seevers

This year, the year of 2018, is the year that Pennsylvania will go red. Not with blood, but on a political level, Republicans will have a chance to take the office of governor and the U.S. Senate seat that is currently held by Democrat, Robert Casey, Jr. But, just because Republicans have a chance to fill such high-stake seats, does not mean that they will elect conservative and honest individuals. Right now, running for Senate, Lou Barletta is the front runner in the race for the Republican nomination. Who is he? He is a creature from Washington who has voted for subsidies, tax hikes, spending increases, bureaucracy, and he has a conservative rating of 43% according to Conservative Review, a 48% according to FreedomWorks, and a 63.5% according to the American Conservative Union. He has become detached from the PA in his 6 years in Washington. Why should Republicans, especially conservatives, support a man like this, who has proven to be less of a conservative, but more of a moderate, establishment Republican. There has to be an alternative.

Enter Jim Christiana. Jim Christiana has represented the 15th legislative district of PA since 2008, and has proven time after time to be a burning conservative. He has served in the PA legislature, and has pushed for transparency and accountability within government ever since he entered the political arena. He has fought diligently for school choice and freedom and he even started a website where constituents in PA can see exactly where their tax dollars are being spent. Christiana has voted for tax decreases, fiscal responsibility, and against bureaucracy. He has a lifetime rating of 84% conservative from the American Conservative Union, and has touted himself as anti-establishment, and rightfully so. He is the anti-establishment conservative from the legislature in Harrisburg, PA up against the establishment moderate from the capitol in Washington.

A short glance at the list of those supporting Christiana shows that the Republicans from the PA capitol are supporting his campaign. People like the Speaker of the PA House, Mike Turzai and Senator Jake Corman. Lou Barletta is being supported by those in Washington. This shows how detached from PA Barletta has grown in his time in Washington. Is this what we want? No, conservatives do not need a swamp creature becoming senator representing the entire state of PA. We need someone who has served in PA and who is a proven conservative.

This is why the CROC Party is supporting Christiana.
