Short Bio

Seokho Kang is an associate professor of industrial engineering at Sungkyunkwan University. He received his B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in industrial engineering from Seoul National University in 2011 and 2015, respectively. His research focuses on bridging the gap between theory and practice in machine learning by addressing practical challenges, such as data scarcity and inaccessibility, high annotation costs, limited computational resources, and dynamic environments with uncertainty. He is also interested in applying machine learning to solve real-world problems across various industrial fields, including manufacturing, materials, and healthcare. He has published over 70 papers in refereed journals and conference proceedings related to these areas.
