Travel and Hotels
HELPFUL INFORMATION
Conference Venue: Oregon State University Corvallis campus, MU (Memorial Union), Horizon Room (for plenaries, receptions, and other food service), and STAG (Strand Agricultural Hall) (for thematic sessions). These buildings are adjacent to the MU quad, and very close to one another.
From Portland airport (PDX) to Corvallis: Two services run from PDX to Corvallis
Hut Shuttle, http://www.hutshuttle.com/, 541-926-2525, stops at Hilton Garden Inn (12 min walk) and at the OSU Longhouse essential at MU).
Oregon Express Shuttle, http://www.oregonexpressshuttle.com/, (877) 693-3785, stops at Comfort Suites and Reser Stadium (10 min walk).
Parking: OSU Parking permits are not required after 5pm on Friday, or at all on Saturday and Sunday. There are no campus shuttles after 7pm Friday or at all Saturday and Sunday. Parking Lot map. (see also the local map below where MU and STAG are located near the red star).
There should be abundant space near Reser Stadium, and it takes about 10 min to walk from there to MU or STAG. Parking north of campus may be more limited on Friday afternoon due to students social activities.
Transport to Campus: There are a handful of options to get to campus for the event, including busses, taxis, Uber and Lyft. We also encourage car pooling, and we will set up carpooling exchange for Sunday. Hub Cab, http://www.thehubcab.com/, (541) 738-9000. Busses: Local city busses are free. Mapped routes can be found via www.google.com/maps. For an example route from the Econo Lodge to STAG Hall for Saturday morning click here, https://goo.gl/maps/5cTxGNSFhaJ2. This is not an option for Sunday, please make other arrangements.
Walking: from downtown (Monroe and 2nd) it takes 10-15 min to walk to campus (Monroe and NW Kings). This may be a faster option than waiting for a bus or looking for parking.
Area Restaurants: except for breakfast, we will provide food and beverage service paid by your registration fee. If you need more, there are plenty of venues along Monroe Avenue and in downtown Corvallis.
