History

The Scarborough Sportsmen’s Club was established in 1953.

The management committee authorised the formation of the bowls sporting division and the first two greens. Now known as "B" and "C" greens, these were constructed mainly thanks to the voluntary labour of the foundation members.

B green was created on land owned by the club, C green on land leased from the Perth Roads Board (later to become the City of Stirling). “A” and “D” greens were established later.

The men’s bowls division was admitted to the Royal West Australian Bowls Association in 1957. Arthur Povah was president of the Sportsmen's Club at that time. The bowls chairman was Arthur Purslowe.

The Sportsmen's Club was officially renamed to the Scarborough Sports & Community Club in 2018.
