In order to create an equitable competitive environment for the challenge, we provide the participants with a set of rules. Any modifications incurred on any aspects of the challenge (e.g., rules, deadlines) will be communicated to all participants via email, which the participants as required to provide upon registration. Below we provide a draft of the rules for the competition:

Eligibility.

All participants must be 17 years old or older, no less than the age of majority in their place of residence, and have internet access and an email account. By entering this competition, the participants agree to the rules set out in this document.

Registration.

Entering this competition does not require any purchase. Participants can be registered either as an individual or as a member of a team. Throughout this document, we refer to a registration (as an individual or as a team) as an entry. Each participant must be associated with a single entry in this competition. Any entry can participate in both tracks of this challenge. If an entry is registered as a team, then the members must (i) give their consent for the entry and must (ii) designate a leader who will be responsible for receiving communications.

Personal Data and Privacy.

The organizers only require each participant to provide their name, email address, team name and affiliation (e.g. institution, company). The personal data provided by the participants might be used to: (i) communicate with them regarding their entry, (ii) to administer the competition, or (iii) identify the winner(s).

Submission.

All entries may only submit results obtained from models trained on the provided training dataset for each track. For the first task, participants can only use the annotations of the 3 videos provided; if, at the code inspection, an entry is found to be using the annotations from the remaining videos, the entry will be disqualified. Additionally, a submission is valid subject to the following conditions: (i) it is compatible with the official submission format, provided on the official website of the challenge; (ii) it is in English; (iii) it does not contain any content that is inappropriate, or that violates any other’s rights of privacy, publicity, or intellectual property, or that violates laws of any jurisdiction of the participants’ places of residence; (iv) it does not violate any rights of any third party. Each competition entry (as a team or as individual) can submit at most 50 times per month and at most 5 times per day. If entering the competition as a team, each member must give their approval/consent for each submission. Any team member can make a submission.

Prizes.

Up to 3 team members associated with the winning entry of each track will be invited to co-author an academic publication. Prize eligibility requires that the winning participants release their code under an open-source license of their choice. Winning entries’ code will be reproduced by the organizers and should produce the same score as their results submission. Prizes are non-transferable.

Disqualification.

The organizers reserve the right to disqualify any entry to the competition (and any other promotional activity sponsored or administered by the organizers) if: any participant (i.e., individual or member of a team) is found to be ineligible; or any participant or any entry is found to have violated any of the terms in this document; or a registration violates of the individual’s (or team’s members’) employer’s or country’s policies (it is the participants’ responsibility to review their employer’s and country’s policies that might affect their eligibility to enter this challenge).
