Rangapara College follows the systems for the preparation of ACADEMIC CALENDAR and conducting of CONTINUOUS INTERNAL EVALUATION set by Gauhati University. Similarly, the Department of Bengali also prepares the academic calendar on the basis of the academic calendar prepared by the college before the commencement of the semester classes. The calendar is prepared semester-wise which contains the B.A & H.S classes and other co-curricular activities like College Week, observation of various national & international days, Student Unions’ Election, holidays etc. The adaptation of system for Continuous Internal Evaluation is also reflected in the academic calendar. The calendar contains the tentative time for group discussions of semester students, internal assessments, class test, departmental seminars, etc. The academic activities of the department are carried out in accordance with the academic calendar of the department. Pattern of Internal Evaluation of Non-CBCS Courses: The Under-Graduate Non-CBCS courses was implemented from the Academic Session-2010- 2011 by Gauhati University and as an affiliated institution, Rangapara College also started the same course from the said session. The general course of Bengali is of six semesters of 48 credits covering three calendar years. There are total 8 courses for the General Course of Bengali, each course having 60 mark. The mark of Internal Examination for each course is as follows:-

3rd Semester-20

4th Semester-20

5th Semester-20

6th Semester-20

Pattern of Internal Evaluation of CBCS Courses:

The Under-Graduate CBCS Courses of Bengali was implemented from the Academic Session 2019-20 by Gauhati University and the same course was implemented from the above mentioned session. In a regular undergraduate degree programme of CBCS, a student needs to take up 12 core courses, each of 6 credits and 4 credits. The general course of Bengali is of six semesters of 48 credits covering three calendar years. There are total 8 (Core Course-04, Elective Discipline Specific Course-02 & Elective Generic-02) courses for the General Course of Bengali, each course having 60 mark and 2 Skill Enhancement Elective Courses each of 4 credits. The mark of Internal Examination for each course is as follows:-

The department of Bengali conducts sessional examinations for the students of semester classes as per the programme prepared by the college. Moreover, class tests and group discussions are also arranged for knowing the understanding of the students. The copies of the sessional examinations are evaluated within a week and marks are displayed on the Departmental Notice Board. The evaluated copies of the examinations are also showed to students on demand. The department also organises seminars, popular talk, awareness programme for the growth of understanding level of the students.
