I see myself as a mixed-methods Political Economist. I obtained my PhD (Development Studies) from King's College London; before joining King's, I studied Economics at Warwick, Baylor and the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador.

I am working on two projects that explore some of the connections between Institutions and Development. I study the policymaking process in resource-rich countries and the origins of state capacity. Beyond this projects, I also collaborate with amazing colleagues in other topics. Please, take a look at my research page.

Currently, I am an Assistant Professor at the San Francisco School of Economics (USFQ). Before joining USFQ, I was a LSE Fellow and taught modules on Latin American Politics, Political Economy, and Methods at Queen Mary, IDS (Sussex), UCL, SOAS and KCL.
