I am an Assistant Professor in the Accounting Division of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

My research focuses on the impact of financial reporting, particularly in the context of governmental entities such as school districts and local governments, as well as other not-for-profit organizations, including labor unions and universities. These entities often differ from corporate firms, whose primary objective is profit maximization. I am interested in the role of financial reporting and transparency in environments where profit maximization is not the primary goal.

I am hiring part-time or full-time Research Assistants with strong textual analysis skills. Ideal candidates have a solid background in Economics, strong coding ability (e.g., Python/Stata), and prior research experience.
