About

The Pre-Law Society (PLS) is excited to announce the establishment of our Undergraduate Law Journal. The PLS believes that managing and publishing a journal will thoroughly celebrate the effort and dedication its pre-law members and peers invest into their research.

We will aim to publish two issues on a yearly basis: one during the fall semester, and the other during spring. Students are encouraged to submit any past class papers, research for coops, independent studies, etc. for publication (upon the professor’s approval). All papers must be related to any discipline of law (such as patent law, international law, digital crime, legal history), public policy, or history. There is no set “theme” for any published issue.

You may submit papers you have authored in your classes, as long as we have your permission to publish your work (certified by the permission slip linked below) and your professor’s permission (you authorize us to contact your professor and obtain their permission through the permission slip linked below).

Submission guidelines

At this time, we are only able to accept work that is authored in NJIT classes by NJIT students. Papers written in Rutgers classes cannot be accepted. Papers authored by NJIT alumni can be submitted as long as they are accompanied by the permission slip.

Participants are encouraged to submit work that is a minimum of 2 pages, excluding references. There is no maximum limit of pages. We shall aim to publish an issue each semester. We welcome submissions that range from all law, history, public policy topics and we will accept these submissions on a rolling basis.

We shall accept papers of any citation format. Please make sure you cite your sources accordingly.

Please submit your work to this form to be considered. You will have to sign a permission slip for every paper you want us to publish.

PERMISSION SLIPS

Send us ONE form per paper with your permission slip and submission. We will not be able to publish your work if you do not sign this slip.
