PENINSULA OUTDOOR PAINTERS
Paint with us on Tuesdays!
All levels welcome
The Bay Area Peninsula Outdoor Painters (POPs) is an established group of plein air painters whose membership is open to all painters and every skill level. Since 1977, POPs artists have been meeting every Tuesday morning for paint-outs at varying locations in the Bay Area. We usually paint for two weeks at a location before moving on to another painting site.
Currently, there are no charges for joining POPs (other than park entry or parking fees) and you don't have to call anyone if you can't join us that week. Most artists paint from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. Then, we take an informal lunch break and photograph the morning's work.
No formal critiques are held, but artists are encouraged to talk briefly about their work and may ask for suggestions.
Sign Up for mailings and invitations to possibly participate in shows.
Please also submit questions, ideas or news about your work.
Rules for Painting at POPs Sites
Yield to walkers, bikers and equestrians.
Avoid blocking walkways and trails.
Stay on designated trails....that is a little tricky for us, since we cannot block the paths....use your common sense and set up off to the side if it is a narrow path.
Do not dump any dirty paint water or solvents.
Leave your painting area spotless, LEAVE NO TRACE.
