As NYC experiences the effects of climate change, our teachers, staff, and students want to learn about the hazards of – and the solutions to – the climate crisis.  


The NYC Public Schools Office of Energy & Sustainability leads efforts to bring climate education into curriculum and the day-to-day operations of schools. We lead climate education programs for educators and students in all grade levels and subjects.

Youth Leadership Council – our Council of high school students advancing sustainability and climate justice across NYC schools and communities 

NYC Solar Career & Technical Education (CTE) Program - brings clean energy and sustainability content into existing electrical and engineering courses at CTE High Schools to prepare students for workforce opportunities 

rFUTURE Program – climate arts program for students to write their own sustainability activism song, with mentorship from professional musicians
