About Mrs. Shuba

Welcome to my third grade class!! My name is Mrs. Rachael Shuba, and I am lucky enough to be teaching your child this year in third grade! I hope you all had an amazing summer and are ready for a great school year! Many exciting things will be happening in our classroom throughout the year but I will need your help to make it the most successful experience for your child! Thank you in advance for your help and patience to make this school year a success!

To let you know a little about myself, I lived in Greenville, South Carolina until the summer of 2012. I attended Clemson University where I graduated in Elementary Education in December of 2010. I taught third grade for a year at Oakview before getting married in April of 2012. My husband’s job moved us to Greensboro after that school year. I taught my next three years as a third grade teacher and taught fourth grade for the next five years! We moved back to Greenville during the pandemic and I taught third grade at Oakview during the 2020-2021 school year. I’m looking forward to being back at Oakview for my eleventh year teaching third grade again with a wonderful team!!

My husband and I have a sweet little boy named Austin. He will be four in September and is excited about his new baby sister named Sophie! They definitely keep us busy! It’s been great being home with both of them this summer watching them grow and learn. We also have two sweet and cuddly mini labradoodles named Ziggy and Cooper.

My goal is to provide a learning environment that is safe, inviting, and conducive to all learners. To ensure the safety of the children in our classroom and school, important safety and health guidelines will be reviewed with students. The class will work together to understand and review the rules, respect, and responsibilities expected in our class and at Oakview. I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child throughout the year. We will have so many new experiences and opportunities! If there is important information I should be aware of, or areas where I could possibly assist your child, please let me know! Thank you so much for letting me be a part of your child's learning experience! I can’t wait for an amazing year!
