MediAlert is a system designed in 2037 by M.CO to alert the public of an event that could potentially be threatening to themselves or their belongings. These messages are displayed on TV, on mobile devices, on computers, and just about any other modern device connected to the internet. They automatically overlay anything on the screen at the time with the message.

Events that are significant enough to be broadcasted on MediAlert are categorized into severity and type. Here are the severity levels:

  • Local: This is an event that is happening within a city/county range of your location.

  • State-wide: This is an event taking place throughout your state.

  • Sub-national: This is an event taking place within a large group of states.

  • National: This is an event taking place throughout the entire nation.

  • Continental/Sub-continental: This is an event happening through the continent. In Asia, there can be subcontinental warnings too.

  • Global: This is an event happening throughout all of Earth.

Now, for the different types:

~ WEATHER (local, rarely state-wide):

  • Severe Thunderstorm: A thunderstorm that can damage property and could potentially flood.

  • Flash Flood: A storm that can flood gutters and streets.

  • Possible Tornado: A storm so severe it has the capability of producing a tornado.

  • Confirmed Tornado: A tornado has formed and is causing damage.

  • High Winds: Winds that can blow around loose objects and uproot trees.

  • Tropical Depression: A weakened or forming hurricane is expected to hit your location.

  • Tropical Storm: A well-structured tropical storm is expected to hit your location.

  • Hurricane: A hurricane is going to greatly damage your area.

  • Severe Snowstorm: A snowstorm that can cause slick surfaces and freeze pipes.

  • Blizzard: A large snowstorm that can cause many inches of snow.

  • Whiteout: A blizzard that can cause dangerously low visibility.

  • Other Event: A weather-related event not listed above that is described in the message.

~ TESTING (Can be any severity):

  • LIP (Local Internet Provider)/ISP Test: A test performed by the LIP or ISP you are connected to to test new settings.

  • Statewide Test: A test performed on a set day every month throughout all stations in a state to test state-wide emergencies.

  • National Test: A test performed annually throughout the entire nation to test national emergencies.

  • Global Test: A test performed every half-decade to test a global emergency.

  • Administrative Message: Not really a test, but doesn't fit under any other category. An authority, like the President, is speaking on all outlets.

~ LOCAL EMERGENCIES:

  • Child Abduction/AMBER Alert: A message to alert people about a child who has been kidnapped or forcefully taken.

  • City In Danger: A severe message that indicates the worst is happening. A revolt, mass shooting, fire, or any number of city-wide terrors.

  • Earthquake Imminent: An earthquake is likely to happen in your location, so take action depending on how much time there is to prepare.

  • Tsunami Imminent: A tsunami is expected to impact your location. Get to shelter, now. Get to a place of safety, now.

  • Evacuation: Usually coupled with other major warnings. Evacuate the city due to an attack or hazard.

  • Local Internet Outage: The Main-Net has been disabled for some reason (maintenance or an error), so internet is now running off the Sub-Net and is now somewhat slower.

  • Hazardous Material Warning: Some sort of leak of some sort of bad material has happened, and you should avoid using the contaminated stuff and stay indoors (unless otherwise noted).

  • Shelter In Place: Something real bad's going on out there, so you should shelter-in-place because you can't leave for whatever reason.

~ STATEWIDE EMERGENCIES:

  • State In Danger: Some real stuff is going down. In any case, your entire state (or most of it) is under some real danger.

  • State-Wide Internet Outage: The Main-Net has been disabled in your state, so the Sub-Net has taken over for now.

~ NATIONWIDE EMERGENCIES:

  • Meteorological Event: An event is taking place that should not be seen with the naked eye. DON'T LOOK UP.

  • CODE RED.INVASION: There is an air/naval/ground invasion taking place.

  • CODE RED.NUCLEAR ATTACK: Nuclear warheads (or suspected ones) are inbound.

~ CONTINENTAL EMERGENCIES:

  • CODE RED.NUCLEAR FALLOUT: Nuclear fallout is drafting over the continent.

  • Meteorological Event: An event is taking place that should not be seen with the naked eye. DON'T LOOK UP.

~ GLOBAL EMERGENCIES:

  • NATION-IN-DANGER: A specific nation is being threatened.

  • Meteorological Event: An event is taking place that should not be seen with the naked eye. DON'T LOOK UP.

  • CODE BLACK.END: The world is ending.

This is the script that internet relayers will broadcast upon an alert happening:

This is MediAlert. Shortly you will be a message regarding a/an [Alert Type, in this case lets say an Earthquake Warning]. (Repeat until main script is received)

An Earthquake Imminent has been received. This means that an Earthquake is expected to impact your location very shortly. Prepare for tremors. (Repeat until more information is given)

[This isn't part of the script, it's just what could possibly happen] Tremors are reported to be level 5 or lower. Exact location of earthquake is currently unknown, although if the location is the ocean, there could be threat of a tsunami. Stay tuned. (Again, repeat until there's more available)

[Alert Noise]: This alert has been upgraded to a Tsunami Imminent. A tsunami will be impacting your location. Get to the highest available place, and as far away from the coastline as possible. (Repeat until there's more available)
