Artist & Educator
McKayla Lange is an art educator from Painesville, Ohio. In 2020, she earned her Associate of Art from Lakeland Community College. In 2024, she earned her Bachelor of Fine Art in Art Education from Bowling Green State University, with a studio focus in sculpture. Throughout her higher education, McKayla has been involved with many media; including painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, digital, ceramics, fibers, performance, installation, and jewelry and metals. In 2023, McKayla co-hosted and curated the As We Were exhibition at Bowling Green State University to highlight professional and preservice art educators. In 2023, McKayla was honored to present as a pre-service educator at the Ohio Art Education Association Conference, speaking about ways to incorporate identity in art education. In 2023, McKayla was awarded two CURS Grants to fund research related to organically dyeing wool, and presented at the Center For Undergraduate Research Symposium in both April 2023 and April 2024. In 2024, McKayla was awarded the Dave Cayton Memorial Scholarship and Surface Design Outstanding Student Award for her sculptural work Organic Symphony in the 2024 BGSU BFA Show Emerging.
