Solution

Our solution is called Electro-Gnome. Electro-Gnome works by spinning a mainspring which spins an axel and uses an arrangement of gear which makes the axel spin the same way no matter which way you turn it. Our arrangement of gears has an odd number of gears on the upper half and an even number of gears on the inside, if you take the input of one of these gears on the lower half then no matter which way the axel is spinning the generator is making electrical energy which can power buildings on large scale. This can be built in different sizes and can be air dropped in any location.  It's useful and you don't have to rely on natural resources which aren't available all the time. 

Solution:

• Our solution is called the ElectroGnome. We use a 3 dimensional electrical circuit, that is a kinetic motion machine. It continuously spins and stores energy that we can output into the grid. 

• How it works:

1. Wind the mainspring using the flywheel. 

2. Let the wheel go.

3. The main axle spins.

4. The gear attached to it which spins a special arrangement of gears which makes the ending axel spin in the same direction no matter which way you turn it

• This ElectroGnome uses a mainspring and a flywheel to spin a generator.

  • The generator is reusable and helpful. It has many gears to make the generator spin fast. The mainspring is a spring used in many clocks and is used in this project as a power source to spin the main axel. 

• • The gear arrangements make the generator always spin the same direction so that it will not lose any time or energy when it switches directions

• The main axle is used as the main connecting piece with all the important parts attached including the main spring, the flywheel, and the gears. 

• The flywheel is a large wheel used to tighten the mainspring. Once you tighten the mainspring, it starts uncoiling by itself, releasing the energy that has been stored. It can be tightened by connecting to a truck using an axle which tightens the mainspring while driving to the destination. It can also be tightened by places with a surplus of energy that they don't get to use and end up wasting. These places can use the ElectroGnome to airdrop it to places in need.
