My first major expedition was an attempted walk from Wales to Australia.
Consisting of a traverse of the European continent, a freezing trek through Ukraine and Russia during winter in temperatures as low as -36°C, and a blisteringly hot crossing of the desolate Kazakh Steppe in summer with temperatures in excess of 45°C, before arriving at the foot of the Tien-Shan mountains in Kyrgyzstan.
There, due to complications with visas, I was forced home, before returning to the project and crossing the Australian Outback from Perth to Sydney.
The walks were entirely on foot and completely unsupported, funded through savings and financial help from family and friends. All donations received went to the charities WaterAid and The Marine Conservation Society.
Unfortunately, the partner involved in this project has since locked me out of all the online presence and claimed ownership of all the content, including my photographs.
As well as day trips scrambling technical zones in Snowdonia, and tackling Scotland’s famous Black Cuillin Ridge, I have continued to undertake long distance expeditions in remote places. To name a few, I have…
Hiked 200kms within the Arctic Circle in Swedish Lapland.
Walked the length of Wales along the Offa’s Dyke Path.
Combined Scotland’s East and West Highland Way.
Completed the Three Peaks Challenge.
Based in Llangollen, North Wales, there are simply too many exciting and varied landscapes across the UK to restrict myself purely to long distance walking.
Mountain biking has become a huge passion of mine. I have positive experience leading groups in technical terrain and teaching skills, am proficient at repairing equipment, and am exploring bikepacking with the intention of forming my own routes and organising expeditions.
I regularly lead groups of varying skill levels on day trips into challenging terrain, such as Snowdon’s Crib Goch and Tryfan’s North Ridge, with repeat clients and exceptional feedback.
As well as all my own outdoor equipment, I own my own cameras, editing software, and more recently a drone. I have a full passport and UK driving licence, with a converted van that allows me to travel freely and easily
