Instructions for Presenters

Individual Oral Presentations
Individual oral presentations are grouped into thematic sessions. Sessions are scheduled for 90 minutes and include 4 presentations. Each presenter has about 20 minutes for their presentation, including Q&A. This allows for up to 10 minutes of overall Q&A as well as time for changing speakers. Speakers are encouraged to answer questions while the next speaker is preparing to present.
Session moderator - The first speaker scheduled to present in each thematic session is designated as the moderator. The moderator should ensure that subsequent speakers stay on time and coordinate any Q&A at the end of the session, time permitting. Although the moderator should monitor time, all speakers are responsible for staying time and should assist the moderator with Q&A whenever possible.
Room resources - Each meeting room will be equipped with a projector and HDMI cable connectors. Each speaker must bring a laptop computer, tablet, or other device for use with the provided projection equipment. If other connectors are needed, UNCG may have them available, but we cannot guarantee it. We encourage all speakers to bring their own adapters if needed.
Symposia
A symposium is a 90-minute session based on a coordinated submission of abstracts that are related. A symposium presentation includes:
Introduction
3 or 4 oral presentations
Discussion
The symposium chair is responsible for allocating time to each component and for ensuring the symposium begins and ends on time.
