Hello!

I’m Dr. Harmel Tatel II, and I’m delighted to join the Special Education team at Sara Collins Elementary! With 20 years of teaching experience and certifications in Multicategorical Special Education (K-12), along with endorsements in Read to Succeed Literacy, ESOL and Gifted and Talented Education, I’m eager to contribute my expertise to this vibrant community. My students affectionately call me Mr. Don.

Originally from the Philippines, I hold a BA in Psychology, an MA in Special Education, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Management from the University of the Visayas. I’m fluent in Italian, English, and Filipino (including three different dialects), and am currently improving my Spanish.

I’m looking forward to a year full of engaging and creative learning experiences. I’m dedicated to collaborating closely with you to support your child’s educational journey and strongly believe in the importance of parental involvement.
