Graphene Research Institute

Welcome to Graphene Research Institute (GRI)

Since the discovery of graphene in 2004, diverse two-dimensional materials (2DM) including graphene, hBN, TMD, and BP have been actively investigated in the field of physics, chemistry, and materials science. Especially, graphene was recognized for its importance by the 2010 Nobel Prize in Physics. Graphene Research Institute (GRI) has started as a specialization project of Sejong University to become a top 100 global university. GRI was selected in the Priority Research Center Program through the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) supported by the Ministry of Education (MOE) in 2010 and was also selected in Nano Material Technology Development Program in 2012. With diverse research activities based on NRF supports, GRI has been recently performing the Global Research and Development Center Program through the NRF funded by the Ministry of Science and ICT since July, 2018. Through the “GRI” activities, we have been making our best efforts to nurture the advance researchers in the area of 2DM synthesis, electronics, photonics and optoelectronics.  The changes led by 2DM applications in electronic devices and display industries are so unimaginable.
