GREG BAIN

Australia's Country Balladeer

The Country Balladeer

Greg Bain, Australia's Country Balladeer, was born in the Hunter Valley region of New South Wales in 1960. Due to his parents jobs, he and his family moved to various towns around rural NSW. He now lives back in the Hunter Valley.

In 2006 Greg went along to the Bellbird Country Music Club to have a listen to the local artists. It was there that he met Slim Newton, Slim convinced Greg to get up on stage and sing a few songs. Greg became a regular performer at the club and later on that year he became a regular member of the band, playing rhythm guitar.

Since winning the Australian Bush Balladeers Star Quest in 2007, Greg Bain has been consistently considered one of the finest bush ballad recording artists. Greg was named Best New Talent for various award structures with his debut album and Best Bush Ballad of the Year at the TIARA awards in 2012.

Greg was inducted onto The Australian Country Music Wall of Honour for his significant contribution to our recording industry and Greg has received Brumby Awards for Heritage Song of the Year and GMMA awards for NSW Bush Balladeer of the Year.

Greg Bain is a unique country balladeer with a subtle folk edge to his style of Australiana.
