ECOCDA member directors are expected to be available to work the entire audition and be available at all times during the festival.
Students must bring their own music to the audition. In order to comply with copyright laws, no unauthorized photocopies will be allowed at the audition.
Tablets and speakers will be used in the audition rooms to play the audition cuts. All rooms will have extension cords and chargers for the tablets and speakers.
Registration tables and room monitors will be using (based on our WiFi access) tablets or computers with Google Drive enabled so we can register and check in students and teachers via Excel worksheets on Google Drive.
Audition cuts will be made from the official recordings sent through Google Drive. The selected audition passages will be chosen by the ECOCDA Administration.
***REMINDER: Students auditioning for the JH Mixed and HS Mixed Choruses will be required to learn THREE pieces, as opposed to two as in years past. At the audition, one piece will be cut entirely, and a selection from each of the remaining two will make up the audition***
Treble Choir auditioning students will learn only two selections, both selected from the Circle The State With Song (CTSWS) list. Both treble audition cuts will begin from measure 1.
Treble Choir will receive their cuts a week before the auditions.
All Choruses will receive their cuts the Friday prior to auditions.
Students will learn the audition pieces selected for their choir only. At the auditions, they will perform short sections or “cuts” of each song.
Songs in a foreign language will be sung in that language (unless otherwise stated).

Students will recieve their cuts of the pieces from their teachers (released the Friday before the auditions)
Students need to report to their assigned audition room no earlier than 15 minutes before their audition time. They will check in with a room monitor at that time.

Students will sing "cuts" or short sections of their pieces; students need to learn all of their pieces beginning to end, but they will not sing the entire piece at the audition. (Cuts can come from anywhere in any of the pieces.)
Only TWO songs will have cuts (JH and HS choirs eliminate one of the three audition selections)
After your audition, report back to the holding area to wait for your classmates to finish their auditions.
Clean up after yourselves, please - all trash goes in trash cans around the foyer.

Composite scores are placed in rank order from the highest to the lowest score in like sections (ie., Soprano I, Alto I, etc.). Student names and school will remain anonymous during the selection process. At the audition students will be identified only by their number, which will be given upon registration at the audition site. Students must physically sign in at registration to receive their audition number.
Only after the choir has been selected will the names be matched with the audition number assigned during the registration.
