A parent in Albequerque, NM is considering moving to Dillon for a job with the Forest Service. If the family moves, there is one middle school student who would also be enrolling at DMS. The DMS office is closed for the evening, and the parents would like to preview the school's policies, fees, and location which may impact their decision. They only have until tomorrow to decide if DMS is suitable for the family. Please break these codes for them to be able to have an idea of what DMS is made. Good luck!
Although Dillon is a small town, visitors might need a map to find important places in town--like our school!
All students are required to purchase a planner for $4, and, in 2019-20, students will pay a $15 technology fee. Upon entering 6th grade or enrolling as a new student, a $4 lock fee is charged and returned at the end of graduation. This year we have 89-sixth graders, 85-seventh graders, and 75-eighth graders.
For certain holidays and the end of the year, students are released at noon. Monday-Thursday school runs from 8:15-3:40 and on Fridays, released at 2:35.
Our library has thousands of books, which can be searched by author, subject, title, and other criteria. Examples of books available would be the famous author Gary Paulsen, books about Reconstruction, and some with the title "Lollipop".
Students who display less than desirable behavior will be asked by staff to fill out a refocus form. Five of those will equal a write-up, which has more extensive consequences.
