Frequently Asked Questions

1) Why does DMA have a 3-day cancellation policy for cleaning sessions and private lessons?

Cleaning sessions and private lessons are appointments booked between specific students and an instructor on a lesson-by-lesson basis. These bookings reserve the instructor's time as well as the studio space. A 3-day cancellation policy protects the instructors and the studio from late cancellations or no-shows. Many appointment-based businesses have cancellation policies to protect their resources as well as to ensure appointment availability to others. We have decided that this is the best policy for our business. Therefore, cleaning sessions and private lessons can only be canceled or rescheduled with at least 3 days’ notice in order to receive a refund or reschedule the lesson. With fewer than 3-days notice, that option is forfeited. There are exceptions to our cancellation policy that we will evaluate on a case-by-case basis; if you cannot make your cleaning session or private lesson, please notify us as soon as possible.

2) Why is my monthly tuition the same, even on weeks the studio is closed?

Our annual tuition is based on 31 weeks of class occurring in early September through early May. This annual tuition is divided evenly into nine, monthly tuition payments, due on the 1st of the month, September through May. This way, you will know exactly what your tuition is every month; it does not fluctuate based on the number of weeks you’ve had class that month. If you join after the season begins in September, your tuition will be prorated.

3) Why doesn’t anyone answer the phone when I call before 3:30pm on weekdays?

The same time we hold classes is also when our front desk is open and someone is available to take your call. The best time to call the studio is during our operating hours, which is Monday through Thursday from 3:30-9:30pm.
