Airline Regulations

§Limiting your luggage to one carry-on bag will avoid checked baggage fees ($30 Delta, $35 United Checked bag fee) and save us time! No need to go to checked baggage to wait for bag!. All baggage fees are the responsibility of each participant and the participant must have the exact amount for check-in. § The name and address of the traveler (not a parent or family member) must appear on the outside of all baggage.

§ You may be required to wear a face covering during your flight.

United and Delta FREE 1 Carry on bag-- your carry-on bag should fit in the overhead bin. The maximum dimensions for a carry-on bag are 9 inches x 14 inches x 22 inches (22 centimeters x 35 centimeters x 56 centimeters). This includes handles and wheels.

United and Delta FREE 1 personal item-- should fit underneath the seat in front of you. The maximum dimensions for your personal item are 9 inches x 10 inches x 17 inches (22 centimeters x 25 centimeters x 43 centimeters).


You may also bring assistive devices (such as a collapsible wheelchair, cane, crutches, medical device for prescription medications, or portable oxygen concentrator) No fee

TSA Guidelines

§ All liquids, gels and aerosols carried onto the plane must be three ounces or less and carried in one clear, quart-sized, zip-top, plastic bag. This bag must be removed from the carry-on and placed in a bin for X-ray screening.

§ Prescription liquid medications, hand sanitizer, and other liquids needed by persons with disabilities and medical conditions are permitted in carry-on baggage. If these items are larger than 3.4 ounces each, they must be separate from both the carry-on and the quart-sized bag and must be declared to the TSA Officer.

Packing Tips

§ Pack critical personal items (contact lenses, glasses, medication, cash, an extra face mask, etc.) in your carry-on bag.

§ Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring rain apparel.

§ Leave valuables and electronics at home. WorldStrides assumes no responsibility for lost or stolen items.

Reminders

§ All participants 18 years of age or older must carry a government issued photo ID such as a driver’s license.

§ Please notify your Program Leader of any and all dietary needs or medical conditions in writing prior to departure.

Behavior

§ Rules will be established by chaperones and passed on to all trip participants. Any violation of these rules or the Student Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, which includes sending the participant home at the parents' expense. A chaperone is present at each site visited by the participants; however, at selected sites participants may have the freedom to explore on their own. All participants are expected to exhibit responsible behavior at all times.

COVID-19

§ Participants and parents are responsible for review of the COVID-19 Travel Advisory and Participant Travel Requirements found here as well as COVID-19 information specific to TSA, their airline(s), and their departure and arrival airports. Please be advised that all participants must present a negative COVID-19 test result to their Program Leader prior to departure (PCR test within 3 days of departure or antigen test within 2 days of departure).
