I have to admit, our admin at our school is pretty awesome. They gave us the entire back half of the day for room set-up. This strip is a mixture of the constant babysitting we dealt with at my old school, and a PD I attended where we literally spent an entire day - before and after lunch - coming up with ONE SENTENCE defining rigor.
This is a nod to the first school I ever worked at. Well, more like the perception of it. Anyone who heard the school I worked at would promptly reply with a blessing of sorts and a "be safe out there". The truth is, the school was filled with great people and great kids.
I had an administrator that made me cry on a daily basis, but a good school, safe school nonetheless.

I remember when I graduated, being excited to start working. Then, someone told me that they changed the retirement age from 55 to 62. I was so relieved when I found out I was grandfathered in to retire at 55. Hopefully for the new teachers 2017 and beyond, this never becomes a reality.
*God bless all that sacrificed their lives on this terrible day 16 years ago.
