What is croquet?
It's a game(s) where striking your ball with a mallet you try to get it to go through a hoop (wicket) to score a point or, instead, make your ball hit your opponent's ball away so in their turn to play it will be more difficult for them to do the same thing. You might know about the backyard game of croquet that is lots of fun for both kids and adults alike. Our games use heavier mallets and balls and narrower hoops and are played on a larger court but they still generate the same laughter and fun as the backyard game. In addition, our games are thought provoking as you try to figure out what strategy you should use in your turn and what strategy your opponent is likely to use when it is their turn.
What croquet games do we play?
Golf Croquet - the easiest and most popular croquet game in the world.
Snake-in-the-Grass Croquet - a variant of Golf Croquet created right here in BC. It is the most popular game at our club and in BC as a whole. Those who play Snake Croquet are called Snakers.
Association Croquet - the standard game played worldwide. This game requires additional physical skill and different strategy and many players will never take it up.
Ricochet Croquet - a variant of Association Croquet that has become popular in Australia.
