Antonio Alfaro (19)
I’m currently in my second year of college and I became the treasurer of the Puente club. I grew up in Tijuana, Mexico until I was 15 and my first language and I also speak fluent English. My educational goal is to get my bachelors degree in political science and then my masters in law. My dream is one day become a politician and be able to represent my community proudly. I aspire to work in congress to be able to make the voices of the underrepresented heard and have a place in the conversation.
Brian Bahena (19)
Brian Bahena (19) is a daydreamer that uses the pronouns he, him. Brian left his hometown of Cuernavaca in Mexico to start a new adventure that changed the perspectives he already had. I like to believe that we create our own fate but still have fun reading some horoscopes. I have grown a passion for art and writing, they are the ultimate way of expression. I enjoy being outdoors surrounded by tall trees and green parks. I enjoy hanging out with my amigos and mi familia as well. I am loving the Puente because it got me out of my comfort zone. And remember that Once a Puentista, Always a Puentista.

Hey, my name is Adriana. I was apart of the 2019 Puente Cohort for my first 3 semesters in college. I am passionate about my dreams of helping others with mental issues they might face in their daily lives. I love to watch Anime, read books, and spend time with my family. I love to try new styles of fashion and inspire to make everyone feel happy for who they are. I am an independent woman, always advocating for social injustices happening in our society, and believe that we are free to make our own decisions. Learning to love yourself and others should be a priority. Once a Puentista, always a Puentista.
Cesar Barajas
Hey, guys, it’s Cesar and I’ve been with Puente since 2019 for about three semesters I’m someone you would call “serious”, but in reality, I am a bit of a goofball. I have always been that person who likes to expand my horizons and explore new things such as new food, pushing my limits whenever I go for a run or even pick up a new hobby. My biggest passion is to one day be a motivational speaker and inspire people to accomplish everything they’ve ever wanted emotionally, and spiritually. Being one of the youngest siblings and the first to ever go college in my family, I understand the pressure that is being put on you to accomplish so much and be the very best version of yourself. In knowing this I love to keep up my positivity by going on long walks to help clear my head and recharge. I also love gardening and being in touch with the ground and earth. As we say in Puente, once a Puentista ALWAYS!! a Puentista!!

Hello, my name is Alan Rangel. It is my third semester at San Diego City College as well as Puente Cohort since 2019. One thing about it is that I like to be positive in any situation in life. I want to help if I could help anyone. One day, I want to reach a position that can defend the defenseless and do the right thing in this society. My favorite hobbies are watching series, movies, eating. I like to collect sneakers of all the models that I like. I like to strive for the things I want.
Sylvia Sandoval
Hi my name is Sylvia Sandoval I’m 19 years old and my major is Business Administration and currently in my third semester of college . I’m currently working being full time student and been President of Puente. This is my third semester of being a Puentista and currently going to my fourth. I have been in the Puente cohort since fall 2019 my first semester of college. My experience with Puente has been life changing since the moment I got in. My Puente experience is remarkable and a beautiful one. I have grown so much in Puente as a student and person. What I learned is that you can never give up on yourself and whatever you are trying to achieve. My hobbies are shopping, dancing & singing . Also another activity that I really like to do on my free time is going on hikes . My passion is taking lead on things and work in teamwork. My future goal is own my own company and being part of the business industry. Puente has been something life changing for me & I don’t regret at all being part of it. Mirella Perez
My name is Mirella Perez, I am twenty years old, 5’4, Capricorn, and I grew up in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. I am bilingual, I speak English, fluent in Spanish, and I am also learning a little bit of Italian. My friends say that the color pink and Hello Kitty is what most reminds them of me. And I also have a plant that is named Ale. I just finished my third semester in college. I am majoring in Psychology because I am amused by learning human behavior and find it very interesting. My passion is Film and I dream of working in the industry, and meeting Guillermo Del Toro. I would love to one day write my own stories and tell them with a camera. I believe that every single one of us has an important story to tell, and I want to tell mine.

My name is Andrea Luna and I have been in Puentes cohort since fall of 2019 while I was beginning my first year of college. Some interests and passions include music and traveling around when I can. Both are able to bring comfort and peace when in need. Music is also a form of communication worldwide and its able to let me connect with people whether preferences of genres and artists differ.

My name is Andrea Salazar, I am 20 years old and I am currently in my third semester in college, going to my fourth. My puente experience has been the highlight of my college experience. I have grown so much as a person. I started puente being this shy girl, and now I can proudly say I got out of my comfort zone and became Vice-President of the new cohort 2020-2021. I feel so proud of myself because my growth is recognized by my mentors, and that is truly one of the best feelings out there. My passion is to help people, especially kids. I want to obtain my bachelors in Social work, but eventually get my masters as a Pediatric Speech Pathologist. I am a very caring person, and I love to spend time with my family and friends. I also have an obsession with buying candles. I can honestly say it is an unhealthy obsession because since I am a Bath & Body Works employee, it makes it easier for me to buy the candles. I also love to spend time connecting with nature and explore new places.

Hi, my name is Anthony, I'm 19 and I attend San Diego City College where I'm currently pursuing a major in Graphic Design. I'm someone who is very interested in all things creative. My hobbies include drawing, writing, pc gaming and design clothing. What peaks my interests is fashion, I absolutely love period styles and interesting concepts. In the future, I'd love to create my own clothing line and maybe even be an art director! Remember to always trust the process, and to never give up on what you're passionate about, ever.
