Charles Siriban
Welcome to my website!
I am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Queensland Centre for Population Research, the University of Queensland. My current research projects investigate patterns of internal migration in Australia.
I finished my Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Melbourne last December 2022. My research fields are political economics and development economics. I use administrative datasets to investigate the following questions: (i) how do non-partisan alliances in developing countries function as political organizations? and (ii) what is the role of lobbyists in politics in advanced democracies?
Before starting my Ph.D., I worked as an economic research associate at the Asian Institute of Management-Rizalino S. Navarro Policy Center for Competitiveness and the Philippine Human Development Network, and as an instructor at the Ateneo De Manila University.
