cannabis edibles

LETS TALK 2.0 !!!

Cannabis edibles, concentrates and topicals all became legalized back in October. We know some other places in Canada have already been able to indulge in a range of 2.0 products.

WHEN ARE THESE PRODUCTS AVAILABLE ?

Unfortunately for us here in Alberta we haven't seen any of these yet.... but the wait is almost over!!! We’re now expecting to see some of these products within the next couple weeks, finally!!! Let's get some bad news out of the way first. Sadly not all of these products will be available in the next few weeks. We won't be seeing vape pens or topicals just yet. We know it's a bummer! For potential health concerns the sales of concentrate pens have been put on hold by the Government of Alberta. Just for now that is! We'll keep you updated as we learn more.

WHAT PRODUCTS CAN WE EXPECT TO SEE ?

Time for the exciting news. As of January 14th we will start seeing these products on our shelves. Gummies; chocolates, hard candies and cookies are the first 2.0 products we will have in our store. There will be a variety of products to choose from with many more options coming in the following months. The next wave of products to come will include many various forms of drinks. So stay tuned for those!

Even though we wont be seeing vape pens in the near future, there will still be other forms of extracts coming. These products will start hitting shelves in another couple weeks. Things like Keif, Hash and Rosin are few of the types we may see. These products are normally smoked in some form and yield a much higher concentration of cannabinoids.

HOW MUCH SHOULD I CONSUME ?

Edibles can result in a much stronger high that can last for a longer period of time. This being the case, these products are going to have limits on how strong they will be. Each package will contain up to 10mg of THC. For the experienced cannabis user you may need to indulge in a few of these tasty treats, while anyone new to edibles can enjoy a serving without overdoing it. I'm sure some of us have been there!! Concentrate extracts can be a great alternative to traditional cannabis flower. Anyone new to extracts should be aware of just how strong these products can be! Due to a higher potency you should always start with low amounts and work your way up.

I'VE HAD ALL THESE PRODUCTS DELIVERED TO ME - AREN'T THESE LEGAL ?

A common misconception among many of us is that the products we’ve been ordering online are legal. Unfortunately, they are not. Only products that have been regulated by Health Canada and come from licensed producers are legal products. Legal cannabis products can be identified by the excise stamp that is required to be on each container. In Alberta, you can only obtain cannabis legally by ordering through the AGLC website or going to your local cannabis shop.

Come in and ask your budtender any other questions you have about 2.0 products!!

WHAT ARE YOU MOST EXCITED TO SEE ON THE SHELVES ??

STAY GREEN EVERYONE!!
