Lell was treading the boards at Maitland Repertory Theatre (MRT) long before starting school. Theatre was her true education.

Her earliest memories were under the direction of her Dad in his plays full of mystery, suspense and murder, with dead bodies falling out of secret panels in the walls, ghost trains whizzing across the stage and ‘glass’ windows conveniently made out of toffee that needed smashing. Lell never once complained having to clean up the smashed windows at intermission.

In addition to her liking for toffee and backstage, Lell is a director, actor, teacher, stage manager, production manager and lighting/sound designer.

She has studied directing at NIDA and stage-managed Ladies in Black (Novocastrian Players 2021) and Alice in Wonderland Jr (Hunter Drama, 2022).

Lell is a director with her most recent The Diary of Anne Frank (MRT, 2017) winning her a CONDA award for excellence in direction.

She is excited to direct the Australian classic Cosi with Reamus Youth Theatre in May.

Lell loves to potter around the theatre making props and building sets.

Lell works for Hunter Drama and is delighted to work professionally in the theatre industry.
