Meet the Teachers

Mrs. Preston

My teaching career began in 2004, shortly after I graduated from Spring Arbor University where I played on the volleyball team and pole vaulted for the track team.   I taught in Colon for 5 years and then joined the Andrews Elementary team. So far in my teaching career I have taught grades 2-6, but love my 4th grade position the most.  I look forward to another great year with my students and can’ t wait to see how much we can do together.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and love completing projects around the house.  I try to go on a walk with my two littles, Cole and Piper on a daily basis.  I also have a step-daughter, Kacie, who attends Centreville schools.   We live on a small farm south of Three Rivers.

Mrs. Griffioen

My teaching career began in 2003, shortly after I graduated from Western Michigan University where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Education degree.  I taught in Cassopolis for 10 years and in 2013 was given the opportunity to connect with my community as an educator at Hoppin Elementary. I have experience teaching several different grades and love teaching 4th grade with Mrs. Preston as part of the Andrews family.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Rob, and two children, Evan and Abigail.  I love being active and can often be found running with my dogs, Sampson and Apollo, doing CrossFit, or biking with my friends.  I’m also a member of the Riverside Kids Dream Team, where I volunteer as a service coordinator. I teach at Beacon Health and Fitness in the evenings and enjoying volunteering in our community.  I can be found listening to music, taking naps, and playing cards in my free time.
