Becoming a Certified Public Accountant is a commendable career choice, but candidates must first pass a CPA exam covering a wide range of complex topics. For many, this can be a challenging endeavor. Andrew Katz, CPA, aids candidates in their exam preparation. He employs a detailed process that starts with developing a study plan tailored to each student's needs. During scheduled sessions, trending multiple-choice questions and simulations are reviewed, and key concepts are emphasized to help students master the CPA exam material.
Andrew has tutored over 100 candidates for all four CPA exam sections. He has helped many achieve high scores, with some reaching as high as 93 in FAR, AUD, REG, and TCP/BAR/BEC.
His passion for helping others pass their CPA exams is evident in his track record over the past four years. According to one of his students, "Andrew was great! He helped me pass REG with an 81 despite a tight deadline. He put my worries at ease as soon as we began working together. He was efficient, professional, and enjoyable to work with. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking help, as his skill set suits any student."
This kind of praise is common among his students. One student stated, "Working with Andrew has changed my outlook on tutoring. He's amazing! I never thought remote tutoring could work. I've tried working with a few in-person and remotely and was discouraged. However, then came Andrew. He was extremely organized and hands-on. He had a plan before I even had to come up with one. I could tell he cared instantly! His knowledge of the material and his experience tutoring others are priceless. The best out there in my book!"
Andrew offers a 15-minute phone consultation for candidates interested in his CPA tutoring services to assess their needs and set goals. Both private and group sessions at affordable rates are available. Students typically book his tutoring services one to two weeks in advance, and his services are so popular that he often books up for the entire month.
He prepares students for each of the four CPA sections:
FAR Exam: Students typically cover a chapter a week over 8—to 9 weeks. Homework is assigned daily and expected to be completed before the session. Topics include consolidations, leases, cash flows, stockholders' equity, and more.
REG Exam: Preparation usually spans ten weeks and covers individual taxation, taxation of entities, property taxation, business law, ethics, and more.
AUD Exam: This is an eight- to nine-week process that covers transaction cycles, sampling, financial ratios, audit reports, audit and fraud risk, and more.
BAR Exam: This is a six-week process covering Financial Management, Cost Accounting, and advanced financial accounting concepts such as Stock Compensation and Governmental Accounting.
TCP Exam: This is a six-week process covering S-Corporations, Partnerships, Basis, Stock Options, NOLs, and more.
Andrew customizes the lesson plan based on the goals achieved during the week. He and the students typically spend about 20 to 30 minutes reviewing questions about various concepts, followed by multiple-choice questions and simulations.
