A Growing Community
Beyond the podium, the 2025–2026 season has seen a surge in membership. The club's annual meeting in late 2025 drew a "great turnout with a lot of new faces," expanding the roster to include members ranging from age 5 to 100. To support this growth, the club has maintained a rigorous training schedule with practices held every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Anderson Archery has launched into the 2025-2026 season with significant momentum, marked by high participation levels and strong competitive showings across regional TSO, USA, and S3DA tournaments. The club, which serves archers of all ages and skill levels, kicked off the new year by hosting the Anderson Archery Central KY TSO Tournament from November 14-15, 2025, as part of the Shoot-Out Series. This tournament was one of four indoor tournaments that has been hosted this season, welcoming over 500 people to our range since November 2025.
The team is now eyeing a busy spring and summer schedule and are looking forward to aiming their arrows at 3D and outdoor targets.
Over the last 15+ years, Anderson Archery, Inc. has used the same Morrell Targets M48 bales. These were a great investment for us and have held up very nicely over the years. It is now time to restuff and refurbish these bales. At the last couple of tournaments, we noticed that we can't hold this off much longer for safety purposes. Instead of purchasing new bales ($2000 each), we have decided to purchase new foam and bale covers to refurbish the frames that we have. This is not only cheaper but also more economical.
With that in mind, we will need some help from our community and sponsors to help us ensure our members have a safe place to enhance and fine-tune their archery skills. "Target Bale Sponsorships" will assist us in being able to afford this much-needed upgrade.
When you become a "Target Bale Sponsor", your business will be advertised on the base of the target bale and on our time clocks. We will have 4 sponsorship opportunities: two full bales, one full bale, half a bale, and a fourth of a bale sponsorships. Sponsorships varying in contribution amounts from $55 to $420.
If you would like to help us with our project and to advertise your business in our range (we have had around 800+ visitors in the range this year!), please visit the following link https://www.zeffy.com/.../donation-form/target-sponsorships
This year the Rushmore Rumble was held in Indianapolis, IN for the first time on first time, January 9–11, 2026. This tournament was for all ages and was hosted over two days. This tournament style incorporates the gold and red 5-spot target face on day one and the triangle 3-spot target face on day two. This was the first year that many of our members had attended this tournament and spent several weeks preparing. We had archers participating in the following categories: Youth Female Barebow, Youth Male Barebow, Youth Female Bowhunter, Young Adult Female Bowhunter, and Adult Male Bowhunter. Our archers really showed out and came home with great scores!

The TSO Gauntlet (The Shoot Out Series National Championship) is a premier, high-stakes competitive archery tournament for archers of all ages and bow types, featuring a shoot-up, elimination-style format. Held annually, it brings together top-ranked archers from various regions to compete for titles and belt buckles. The 2026 event takes place in Madisonville, KY, featuring your top 8 archers in each ages, sex, and equipment category.
To qualify for The Gauntlet, archers had to participate in 3 regional tournaments and have scores that qualified them in the top 8 in their division. This tournament aims to provide a unique, competitive, and fun environment for archers of all skill levels.
This year the following Anderson Archery, Inc members have qualified for The Gauntlet:
Laney Dennison: Eagle Barebow Female
Cole Robinson: Eagle Universal Draw
Emmett Becker: Eagle Universal Draw
Eli Newton: Youth Barebow Male
Nate Meade: Young Adult Barebow Male
The United States Archery Team (USAT), established in 1982, consists of the top ranked male and female recurve, compound, barebow and fixed pin archers in the country.
Archers earn ranking points based on their performance at USAT Series Events. At the end of each calendar year, top ranked archers in each division will be appointed to 50+, Senior, Para, U21, U18 or U15 USAT. USAT archers are rewarded with highly coveted national team uniforms and sponsor benefits.
Anderson Archery is privileged to have 4 of our members on the USA Archery Team! Delana Puryear (U15 Female Pins), David Fightmaster (U18 Male Pins), Maddison Stratton (U18 Pins), and Cody Fight Master (U21 Male Pins).
Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) is a program for youth archers 8-20 years old. Participants in the JOAD program can enjoy the sport recreationally or progress to the excitement of competition. The JOAD program offers barebow, basic compound, recurve, pins, and compound archers the opportunity to learn range safety and proper shooting technique in an environment that also fosters increased self-confidence and team-building skills.
The Adult Archery Program is a program of USA Archery for adults, age 21 and older. Participants in the Adult Archery Program can enjoy the sport recreationally or progress to the excitement of competition. Similar to JOAD, the Adult Archery Program offers barebow, basic compound, recurve, compound, pins, and traditional archers the opportunity to learn range safety and proper shooting technique, and also offers opportunities for stress release, socialization, and fun.
Both adults and youth archers can participate in national and local tournaments in indoor target, outdoor target, and field target.
Currently, Anderson Archery has more USA Archery credentials than any other JOAD club in the state, with four Level 3 NTS Archery Coaches, two Level 2 Archery Instructors, and one Level 1 USA Archery Instructor. We hope to bring on two new Level 2 archery instructors in the fall of 2025. In addition to these coaches and instructors, Anderson Archery has 3 archers that are ranked in the top 4 of the USA Archery Team: Madalynn Puryear (U21 Pins- 1st), Maddison Stratton (U18 Pins-2nd), and Delana Puryear (U15 Pins-2nd).
Anderson Archery, Inc. has had the privilege of hosting the Anderson and Woodford Counties 4-H archery program.
The 4-H Shooting Sports program focuses on the development of youth as individuals and as responsible and productive citizens. Youth learn marksmanship, the safe and responsible use of firearms, the principles of hunting and archery, and much more. The 4-H archery program provides youth archers with opportunities to develop life skills, self-worth, and conservation ethics.
Local 4-H Shooting Sports clubs are open to all youth ages 8 to 18. Archery can be gratifying for youth, especially those who aren't interested in sports that are considered contact or high-intensity sports. The program provides a supportive environment in which youth can experience a hands-on, fun learning experience.
In addition to being a hosting site, Maddison Stratton, an Anderson Archery member, is currently serving on the 4-H Shooting Sports Board as a 4-H Shooting Sports Teen Ambassador.
In order to continue to have a successful program, volunteers are needed. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer for the 4-H archery program or another Shooting Sports discipline, please contact the Anderson County or Woodford County Cooperative Extension offices for more information.
Anderson Archery is seeking sponsorships and donations for the 2025-2026 archery season.
Through sponsorships and donations, Anderson Archery will be able to continuously maintain our target stands, 3D archery targets, materials for tournaments, repair and maintain members' equipment at no charge, provide club bows for members until they can purchase equipment, purchase snacks for members, food for the club banquet, etc.
Over the past couple of years, we have had amazing sponsors who have continued to sponsor Anderson Archery and provided us with the opportunity to meet the needs of our club and our members.
Due to the growth of Anderson Archery, we hope that through increased sponsorships, we will be able to provide more opportunities for our members in this upcoming season.
