On September 11th, 2025, Anderson Archery Inc. welcomed community members interested in archery to learn about the upcoming season. We discussed the upcoming practice and tournament dates, as well as the benefits of becoming a club member.
All the information needed to join Anderson Archery, Inc. is available on our website. Practice days will be Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
We do require all members to join a National Archery Organization to be covered with liability insurance. This will ensure that medical expenses will be covered if an injury occurs at an archery-related event. Below is a chart comparing the different membership types and the benefits that are provided.
For new and existing club members, membership tiers and dues can be found at the bottom of this page. We do require a liability form for all members and guests to also be completed. This form is good for 1 year from the date it is signed. You can grab one of these forms at the club or print it using the link below.
We will continue to use the TeamLinkt communicate app. You can find the link to the app below. Please ask any of the coaches or board members for the group code if you find that you will need one.
We are excited to begin this new season and can't wait to watch our members grow in their archery skills and abilities.
USA Archery Tournaments (USAT) is a series of competitions sanctioned by USA Archery, the national governing body for the sport of archery in the US. There are various international, national, and local events for archers of all ages and skill levels. During the 2024-25 USAT indoor and outdoor target season, we had 7 members (Madalynn Puryear, Nate Meade, Maddison Stratton, Eli Newton, Delana Puryear, Hadley Dennison, and Laney Dennison) participate in this special set of tournaments. These tournaments are compiled of the best archers from all over the US. Indoor Nationals were held in various locations across the U.S., and our members participated in Owensboro, KY. The USAT Qualifier Series is a series of outdoor target tournaments held in multiple locations across the US. Anderson Archery had a member present at all 4 locations (CA, FL, AZ, OH) and at JOAD Target Nationals in New Mexico.
Our members aren't just present at these tournaments; they are placing in the top 10!
Madalynn: 3rd Arizona Cup, 6th Gator Cup, 2nd SoCal, 4th JOAD Nationals, 2nd JOAD US Open, 5th Buckeye Classic
Nate: 10th Buckeye Classic
Maddison: 4th Indoor Nationals, 1st Gator Cup, 1st Arizona Cup, 6th JOAD Nationals, 6th JOAD US Open, 7th Buckeye Classic
Eli Newton: 9th Buckeye Classic
Delana: 4th Arizona Cup (U18), 3rd Gator Cup (U18), 2nd SoCal (U18), 2nd National Indoor (U15), 2nd JOAD Target Nationals (U15), 1st JOAD US Open (U15), 2nd Buckeye Classic (U18)
Hadley: 5th Indoor Nationals
We cant wait for the next season to start and hope to take a few more members on this great ride with us in the 2025-26 season.
Anderson Archery, Inc. has had the privilege of hosting the Anderson and Woodford Counties 4-H archery program.
The 4-H Shooting Sports program focuses on the development of youth as individuals and as responsible and productive citizens. Youth learn marksmanship, the safe and responsible use of firearms, the principles of hunting and archery, and much more. The 4-H archery program provides youth archers with opportunities to develop life skills, self-worth, and conservation ethics.
Local 4-H Shooting Sports clubs are open to all youth ages 8 to 18. Archery can be gratifying for youth, especially those who aren't interested in sports that are considered contact or high-intensity sports. The program provides a supportive environment in which youth can experience a hands-on, fun learning experience.
In addition to being a hosting site, Maddison Stratton, an Anderson Archery member, is currently serving on the 4-H Shooting Sports Board as a 4-H Shooting Sports Teen Ambassador.
In order to continue to have a successful program, volunteers are needed. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer for the 4-H archery program or another Shooting Sports discipline, please contact the Anderson County or Woodford County Cooperative Extension offices for more information.
Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) is a program for youth archers 8-20 years old. Participants in the JOAD program can enjoy the sport recreationally or progress to the excitement of competition. The JOAD program offers barebow, basic compound, recurve, pins, and compound archers the opportunity to learn range safety and proper shooting technique in an environment that also fosters increased self-confidence and team-building skills.
The Adult Archery Program is a program of USA Archery for adults, age 21 and older. Participants in the Adult Archery Program can enjoy the sport recreationally or progress to the excitement of competition. Similar to JOAD, the Adult Archery Program offers barebow, basic compound, recurve, compound, pins, and traditional archers the opportunity to learn range safety and proper shooting technique, and also offers opportunities for stress release, socialization, and fun.
Both adults and youth archers can participate in national and local tournaments in indoor target, outdoor target, and field target.
Currently, Anderson Archery has more USA Archery credentials than any other JOAD club in the state, with four Level 3 NTS Archery Coaches, two Level 2 Archery Instructors, and one Level 1 USA Archery Instructor. We hope to bring on two new Level 2 archery instructors in the fall of 2025. In addition to these coaches and instructors, Anderson Archery has 3 archers that are ranked in the top 4 of the USA Archery Team: Madalynn Puryear (U21 Pins- 1st), Maddison Stratton (U18 Pins-2nd), and Delana Puryear (U15 Pins-2nd).
Anderson Archery is seeking sponsorships and donations for the 2025-2026 archery season.
Through sponsorships and donations, Anderson Archery will be able to continuously maintain our target stands, 3D archery targets, materials for tournaments, repair and maintain members' equipment at no charge, provide club bows for members until they can purchase equipment, purchase snacks for members, food for the club banquet, etc.
Over the past couple of years, we have had amazing sponsors who have continued to sponsor Anderson Archery and provided us with the opportunity to meet the needs of our club and our members.
Due to the growth of Anderson Archery, we hope that through increased sponsorships, we will be able to provide more opportunities for our members in this upcoming season.
If you are a family member, community member, or a business that would be interested in sponsoring Anderson Archery, please visit this link https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/donation-form/60f9ddc0-8857-4832-a25b-11d0ab7fc6c8
