CHEMIST, RESEARCHER, SCIENCE COMMUNICATOR
My current work at Forge Nano as a Research and Development Scientist allows me to manage projects, collaborate with senior management and business development teams, and disseminate technical knowledge to clients regarding their projects and atomic layer deposition. My supportive team makes the work worth it!
I want to know how and why things work the way they do.
My graduate work in the Neilson Laboratory at Colorado State University focused on the dynamics of organic cations in layered perovskites. Neutron and X-ray scattering allowed me to study structure-property-dynamics relationships in these materials.
It doesn't matter what you do if you can't communicate it.
I communicate science to a wide range of audiences. I have worked with children conveying basic circuitry in an approachable manner at the local museum. I've taught undergraduate chemistry courses and mentored two undergraduates, and I've communicated my research with high-level presentations and publications in peer-reviewed journals. I currently communicate with clients regarding project deliverables and technical details.
Commitment precedes success.
By seeking out unique research opportunities and conveying this information to the public and scientific communities I demonstrate my dedication to the field of materials chemistry.
