Ignacio de L. González Salgado, BA, MA, PhD.

I am a sociologist, a demographer and I hold a PhD in Social Science. I am currently a postdoctoral research fellow in the Sociology Department at the Pablo de Olavide University (Sevilla). Previously I have worked in the University of Salamanca (Spain) as a predoctoral research fellow and as a postdoctoral research fellow in the Sociology and Communication department, and as a visiting postdoctoral fellow in the Urban Health Collaborative at Drexel University (Philadelphia, PA). I defended my dissertation in the PhD program of Social Science at the University of Salamanca, I did my MA in the Center for Demographic Studies at Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain) and my BA at the University of Salamanca.

My work is focused on studying health-related behaviors and health inequalities in the urban environment using qualitative methods. Two of my main research interest are alcohol consumption and smoking. I am also interested in research in ethics in qualitative methodology.

From 2018 to 2021 my research was supported by a predoctoral fellowship granted by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation [Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación], then I was awarded a postdoctoral fellowship by the same institution until 2022. From April to September in 2022 I was conducting a research stay in the Urban Health Collaborative at Drexel University supported by a postdoctoral fellowship "Margarita Salas" granted by the Spanish Ministry of Universities [Ministerio de Universidades]. Currently, my research is supported by a postdoctoral felloship granted by the Regional Government of Andalusia [Junta de Andalucía] and is being conducted in the Sociology Department at the Pablo de Olavide University (Sevilla).
