What is the C.A.R.E. Program?
This program was started in 2017 as a part of TUSD’s effort to increase social and emotional supports and access to mental health
services to all students.
As of the 2020-2021 school year, we have licensed mental health clinicians (also called Student Support Clinicians) serving every TUSD school site.
C.A.R.E. Mental Health Clinicians provide:
•Assessment for mental health conditions/diagnoses
•Development of treatment plans to address problematic symptoms
•Treatment interventions through direct counseling services
•Provider referrals to other supportive services
•Crisis intervention
•Consultation and education on mental health topics
Multi -Tiered System of Support (MTSS)
►Tier 3: Clinical assessment and mental health interventions from the C.A.R.E. Program or Special Education
►Tier 2: Counseling services with School Counselor, Tier II Groups (Provided by school counselor & CARE team)*, Jessica’s House, Treehouse Club, Character Coaches
►Tier 1: TOOLBOX Social Emotional Learning Curriculum, Consultation with clinicians & counselors
