Mrs. Blackburn

Mrs. Blackburn is a devoted educator and musician, bringing the exciting world of music to children for over 30 years. To her, music is a powerful tool in communication and a vital part of everyday human existence. As a music educator, she has been honored by Copper Ridge with the Arizona Middle Level Educator of the Year Award. Mrs. Blackburn’s Copper Ridge Blazer band performs every year in District and California Music Festivals, bringing home Superior and Excellent ratings. When she’s not teaching, you can find her honing her craft of performing music through practice and performance with Scottsdale Community Orchestra. Music is the air in which she breathes. Mrs. Blackburn holds a Master of Education Degree from Northern Arizona University and a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Indiana University. She is delighted to have been sharing and teaching music and band at Copper Ridge school since 2010.
