Early Childhood Standards

We are following the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards here at SMV. Child development follows a continuum--children master skills at different rates and at different times. As we work with your child, we will be considering your child's developmental progress in six areas: health & physical development, social & emotional development, language development & communication, approaches to learning, cognition & general knowledge and faith development. We will be watching for and noting your child's growth in these areas. We will also be planning goals for them to move further along the continuum. Formal assessment in the form of our Early Childhood Developmental Action Plan will be shared in January and June in the form of narrative report cards.
