DEBATING PLASTIC USE IN YEAR FOUR
DEBATING PLASTIC USE IN YEAR FOUR
Spurred on by their Black History Month studies on Zambia and the inspirational recyling programmes there, Year Four has been debating whether or not we should be opting for single use plastic. Armed with their homework research notes, the young debaters postured arguments 'for' and 'against' this topical issue. It was a great opportunity for them to understand the opposing view and many, who were personally 'against' the continuation of single use plastic, took up the cudgels for the opposing stance for the sake of debate. It was a fantastically informed discussion and we have been so impressed by how the children have immersed themselves in this topic. Their knowledge and understanding shone through. Well done Year Four.

Year Four is fundraising for the ‘Kids Conservation Programme’ in Zambia. For every £250 raised, twenty school children in Zambia will attend an educational workshop at Lusaka National Park where they will learn about conservation.

After sharing some super shots of 4G children on their geography field trip in our last issue, we promised we would bring you their fellow geographers in 4M this week. Here they are in all their muddy, wellington-booted glory.

GARDENING CLUB SOWS ITS OWN SEEDS
GARDENING CLUB SOWS ITS OWN SEEDS
This beautiful seed packet was designed by the green fingered members of gardening club who have collected seeds from last year's homegrown bounty for replanting in the spring. The old adage 'you reap what you sow' definitely applies to these canny young Monty Dons. If you would like to join our gardening green goddess, the lovely Sally, at her weekly gardening sessions, just go along and see her in the playground. She's around every Wednesday lunchtime with her gardening crew. You would be very welcome.
