Mrs. Bailey

Welcome to Reading!

My name is Mrs. Bailey! I will be your reading teacher! This is my eighth year teaching and I am excited to begin this year.

I grew up in Grimes, Iowa and graduated from Dallas Center Grimes High School in 2010. I moved to Winona, Minnesota to attend college at Winona State University. As a Warrior, I studied elementary education (K-6) with minors in middle level social studies (5-8) and reading. I graduated in 2014 with my Bachelor's Degree of Science-Teaching. I was also apart of the Winona State Women's Soccer team (Go Warriors!). I continued my education at University of Minnesota, Mankato where I received my Master's of Reading in 2016.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, running, playing soccer, hiking, knitting, and, of course, reading! I am married to my husband who is also a teacher. We have one son and another baby on the way due this summer! We also have two golden retrievers.

Philosophy

I believe all students are capable to reach high standards. These high standards are developed using Minnesota English Language Arts standards, along with learning life skills that are valuable in for the students' future. I believe in creating a safe, student-centered, differentiated, inclusive classroom where all students will be successful. I strive to change and challenge students' perceptions of reading!
