Miss Joy

The EARTH without ART is just eh ~ create something everyday

Welcome!

My name is Joy Blewett, and I am entering my eighth year as art teacher for K-2 students at Bonner Elementary. I believe that every child is born with creativity and imagination, and while they learn to write, they can learn to draw. In the art room this year we will be responding and connecting to the artwork of historical and contemporary artists, as well as creating artwork using a variety of art mediums. Students will learn about preparing artwork for presentation and the function of museum and galleries. The art studio classroom is a place for exploration, invention, creation, and imagination.

I received a BFA from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and a MEd in Art Education from the University of Minnesota. I have a background in fine arts, illustration, photography and graphic design. I have been creating art all my life, and look forward to another year of inspiring young artists!

Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
