The EARTH without ART is just eh ~ create something everyday
Welcome!
My name is Joy Blewett, and I am the art teacher for K-2 students at Bonner Elementary. I have a background in fine arts, illustration, photography and graphic design. I received a BFA from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and a MEd in Art Education from the University of Minnesota. I have been creating art all my life.
In the Art Studio this year we will be responding and connecting to the artwork of historical and contemporary artists, as well as creating artwork using a variety of art materials. Students will learn about preparing artwork for presentation and the function of art museums and galleries. I believe that every child is born with creativity and imagination, and while they learn to write, they can learn to draw. The art studio classroom is a place for exploration, invention, creation, and imagination. I am looking forward to another year of inspiring young artists!
Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
