The House of Mercy Fund Assists Low Income Students from Historically Underrepresented Communities

A Legacy of Mercy

In 1827 Catherine McAuley opened the House of Mercy in Dublin, Ireland, to provide education to those who could not afford it. Saint Joseph's College is committed to Catherine’s vision, continuing the work that Sisters of Mercy started in Maine in 1865.

Last year we introduced the House of Mercy Fund to help bridge the gap for students who face financial difficulties. Together the community helped 10 students remain enrolled and engaged. From a senior double major to a freshman nursing student in the Honors Program, the students supported by the House of Mercy Fund demonstrate the strength of a Mercy education.

Join us once again and support Catherine's legacy with a gift. You can help by making a contribution to the fund here.

The Sisters of Mercy Northeast Community has generously offered to match any contributions to the House of Mercy Fund up to $5,000. Help us and them make a difference in our students' lives.
