Research interests:
Cognitive / Neural network modeling; Child language development; Language disorders; Bilingual language processing; Cognitive Science
Developing neural network models of Child Language Development; applied models to explain interesting linguistic phenomena in language development such as children’s pronunciation errors, vocabulary spurts, individual developmental differences, etc.
Using computational and cognitive approaches to explain the representation, processing and disorders of language development and behavior.
Investigating computational modeling of lexical representation, processing and second language learning in bilinguals.
Exploring complex nonlinear dynamic behaviors in neural network models (e.g. self-organizing behavior in memory recall and brain processing).
Computerized tools for Psycholinguistic Research
I am also interested in teaching Deep Learning and Large Language Models (LLM). I am a NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute higher education Ambassador
Picture on Right
The sketch of my DeLex-II (Revised Development Lexicon) model. Three self-organizing maps handle different aspects (meaning, sound, output phonemic sequence) of a word. Connections among them are trained by Hebbian Learning, representing word comprehension and word production respectively.
