There are many modules support the industrial standard ZigBee, and XBee is one of them. Although XBee is base on ZigBee protocol, for a better performance it defines its own protocol, DigiMesh. Be aware, if there are other necessary modules use ZigBee protocol in the same network, then XBee must be configured to ZigBee, not DigiMesh.
