2 / 12 & 13: Guest Arts Residency with Zara Lawler:

Monday, February 12 at 12pm, BCPA lobby--Workshop #1: Creative Fundraising for Musicians: Zara will give a talk on how to cultivate private donors and other fundraising ideas beyond the usual grant proposals to help our students learn to triangulate resources and understand the need for savvy fundraising skills. Bring your lunch for this informative conversation!

Monday, February 12 at 7:30pm, Concert Hall-- Recital: Zara will give an hour-long performance which will include some standard and modern flute and piano repertoire and choreographed versions of solo pieces for flute.

Tuesday, February 13 at 1pm, Concert Hall-- Workshop #2: Movement for All Musicians: Zara will work with musicians on any instrument in a mixture of group exercises and individual, master class-style instruction to introduce ways of moving expressively while playing simple scales and melodies. This is an exploration of how the visual can enhance our aural understanding of a performance, as well as a basic grounding in proprioception for musicians. Bring your instrument and wear comfortable clothes to participate!

3/23 all day: UWYO Woodwind Day with guest artists Dr. Elizabeth Robinson, South Dakota State University, and Dr. Nicole Riner, University of Wyoming; exhibit by Sherry Lee Flutes

6/20-22: Wyoming Summer Flute Intensive

10 / 16 @ 7pm: All-State practice session for piccolos and flutes with Dr. Riner (join Zoom link here)

10 / 20: Guest Artist Dr. Melissa Keeling in residence

4pm: Improvisation Workshop / Intro to Electronics

7:30pm: Recital in Recital Hall

11/19 @3pm: Monica Mendoza MM recital in Recital Hall

12/13 @2-4pm: Wyoming Flute Association holiday flute choir caroling in Fireside Lounge, Wyoming Union
