Ed Branson's Unique Honey Harvesting Method
Club Member Ed Branson has come up with a unique and efficient way to harvest his honey. Ed uses a press to squeeze the honey out of the wax instead of using an extractor. The press he uses is typically used to squish fruit (grapes, apples, etc.) to harvest the fruit juice. Ed lets the bees draw their own wax comb and fill it with honey. Harvest is completed by cutting out the honey filled comb and placing it into a filter bag. The filter bag is placed in the press and pressed. Wax is contained within the filter bag and honey is forced through the filter material into a pail. Ed's business card says he is a CPA, but I'm guessing he could have done well as an Engineer too.
