No one LIKES to take pills!
But if you MUST take medications and do not have insurance, or your insurer decides not to pay for your prescriptions, what do you do? If you are willing to do your "homework" there are places to contact that may help you obtain needed medications for less money or even for free. Some pharmacies offer and accept discount coupons and/or have special lists of reduced priced medications (all on list are $4).
Compare prices regularly!
For example...
Today Walgreens has Mepron for $750
The same medication at Publix is $1,483.
Another example...
Walgreens has clarithromycin today for $47
CVS Pharmacy has it for $42
The same medication at Walmart is $27
And at Sam's Club (with a membership) it is $10

Pharmacy Checker.com Compare prices on medications sold in Canada and internationally. The site also has a search button near the bottom of the page so you can check some of the prices for that medication in the USA. If you don't see your medication on the main list, click at the bottom of each lettered section ("A", "B", "C", etc.) where it says "More".

There is also a program for patients on Medicare Plan D. The patient must provide proof that he/she has spent $600 or more for prescription medicines since January 1 and provide a copy of the Medicare Plan D ID card. A pharmacy card will be mailed to use at any pharmacy at no cost.

If you have a local Winn Dixie, Wal-Mart, Target Store or Giant Eagle Supermarket please see their Discount Prescription Plans that offer a 30 day supply of certain medications for $4.00, or a 90 day supply for $10.00.
Sam's Club has medications like Doxycycline, Ciprofloxacin, Clarithromycin, Levofloxacin, Minocycline, Penicillin, Amoxicillin, Azithromyacin and many more on their Extra Value Drug List. Doses and duration may not be exactly what you need, however you can get what is available thru the program and pay extra if necessary (above the standard $4.00 price). Here is their current list of free or reduced priced medications.
Walgreens has a 'Valued-Priced Medication List' with over 700 medications at discounted prices. Publix Pharmacy offers free antibiotics (2 wk. supply) and one free month of Metformin along with other specials.
United Supermarkets and Price Chopper Supermarkets offer free antibiotics.
Wegmans offers some free antibiotics and $4 & $10 generic drugs. Harris Teeter offers generic medications at a reduced price too. See links below.
