FOR THE OMEGA GAMBIT:

"I just finished reading your book this morning. It made me smile and brought tears to my eyes. You did a GOOD job! It was a good read. I found myself not wanting to put the book down until I was finished. It strengthened my own beliefs in Jesus and God. I'd love to see it made into a movie!"

-- Pat Smith, Nebraska, USA, Personal Recommendation

"I really enjoyed this book. I liked the symbolism from the bible and the subtle references to the political climate we face today. I think you were spot on in many cases. I don't usually read things twice, but I will definitely read it again when it is published on iTunes."

-- Kyle Donahue, Georgia, USA, Personal Recommendation

"I found the book very entertaining, interesting and unique in its many challenging elements of thought regarding Christian truth and eternal reality. I thought the book maintained a level of integrity when dealing with difficult human topics such as young love, human sexuality, political and social views, torture, death, dreams, myths, religion, theology, and concepts of loyalty versus disloyalty. The weaving of the chess theme throughout the story was entertaining and made the book real. This book will challenge the underlying view many have about the character of God and true self-sacrifice motivated by love. I believe the book’s general subject matter will lead its readers to turn from everyday worldly matters and consider the greater reality of choice for eternal life. Great job! You took on a significant project and have a worthwhile product resulting from your efforts."

-- Roger Bough, Indiana, USA, Personal Recommendation

"I read the Omega Gambit along with Slaughter House 5 and Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy on a recent vacation. I found that the Omega Gambit was harder to put down than the other two books and the other two books are critically acclaimed! I will be buying/reading the next book in this series once the author releases it."

-- Bryce Young, Amazon 5-Star Review

"What at read! This book weaves an exciting and entertaining story around the mystery of the end times. Heartwarming and full of feeling, this saga brings into focus how progressive concentration of power leads to the eventual intervention that the Revelation presages. I highly recommend this new author."

-- A. Brown, Amazon 5-Star Review

"Unbelievable twists! Wonderfully written tale of adventure and true love. A must read for everyone! I was on the edge of my seat for the entire last half of the book, couldn't put it down! This book will make you rethink life and your place in it!"

-- Cbrooke, Amazon 5-Star Review

"Well done first book dude! I loved the characters! This book is much more than simply a rehash of biblical text in the near-flung future. The chess theme really helps solidify your points about sacrifice and unconditional love. Readers will not be disappointed in this reasonably priced eBook."

-- MrFuzzie77, iTunes 5-Star Review

"This book is scary! A must read! If you want a glimpse into how the Revelation may play out then read this book! If not, then bury your head in the sand and keep relinquishing your God-given rights."

-- NarnesBoble, Barnes & Noble 5-Star Review

David Brown is an author to watch in the sci-fi genre. The world he created in New Omaha is well thought out from his original designs in futuristic weaponry, to the complete Lexicon included. One is invested in the characters from the first chapter as they all struggle with their choices in the search for a higher purpose and a greater meaning in a life where those choices have a very cost and the path of least resistance is apparently the only way to survive. This book challenges the reader to examine his Government and his God from the perspective of the faithful in a faithless environment, and to ask how deep is that commitment to both? A fresh voice in the worlds of politics and religion. A truly enjoyable read.

"Wow, what an amazing work of literature, the author plays the role of a prophetic voice behind the curtain of the pages of The OMEGA GAMBIT as he masterfully uses the Grace and Giftings of God to bring you the reader into the very high stakes game of faith! David Brown is a great author needs to be picked up by a major publishing house as I expect there are many more books to come from him. Reader be blessed."

-- SeaBreeze, Amazon 5-Star Review, The Bearded Black Cowboy

"A thought-provoking novel that sort of reminds me of "Left Behind" meets "1984" with a little "Star War" thrown in for flavor. I've read many "end times" books ... from the Left Behind series to the works of Joel Rosenberg, and while I cannot claim a scholarly understanding of the theology that undergirds their stories, I do know enough to follow along and enjoy the tale, and I certainly enjoyed this one."

-- J. Pepper Bryars, Amazon 5-Star Review

"Highly Recommend! A great look at what ordinary people do in extraordinary times. So one cannot help but ask "what would I do?" Very thought provoking in some areas where original thought has been lacking or more accurately discouraged: Religion and politics. David Brown's approach has been fresh in both. His convictions are apparent but never condescending. I was so invested in the characters, I can only hope a sequel is in the works. I highly recommend this book to both the faithful and the searcher."

"An excellent read, hard to put down! Loved this book. It had enough scientific hardware, good amounts of Christian values and excellent story. Great reading. Looking forward to next in series."

-- Mike Snow, Amazon 5-Star Review

"A great book with action, excellent characters, plot and plenty of twists! I received a free copy of this book to read and a request to leave an honest review. I thoroughly enjoyed the book's plot and how believable the characters are. The book is certainly a creative interpretation of the biblical book of Revelation, with aspects reminiscent of Fahrenheit 451 and George Orwell's "1984." The book was so captivating that I ended up finishing it in less than a week! I look forward to reading the next book in the series!"

"I really enjoyed it! This is a really good story. It's based on many of the events described in the Bible in Revelations but don't expect something that will make every biblical scholar happy. Take it for what it is, a good story. There's plenty of action, adventure, suspense, a little romance, and a pretty detailed world to enjoy. He did a great job of keeping me interested throughout the book. Even some of my favorite authors can't always pull that off. For someone who isn't an author by profession, he's very good and I'm looking forward to more books by him."

FOR EN PASSANT:

"Engrossing and thought-provoking! In the maybe not so distant future, En Passant, and its prequel, The Omega Gambit, describe in real human terms what the end times might really be like. It is easy to be sympathetic to the very convincing characters as they cope with the new reality that they face. Right out of the pages of current news, the events unfolding around us today are eerily recognizable as the story describes the slowly encroaching bureaucracy as it engulfs all aspects of private life…business, politics, and religion. Book 1 describes the trials of one man and his family as the end times approach. Book 2 shows us what happens after the cataclysm occurs and a way for one man’s redemption. I heartily recommend these novels, by a new and promising author, for your reading and thinking pleasure."

-- A. Brown, Amazon 5-Star Review

"This book was an excellent continuation on first book The Omega Gambit. It stirred up some interesting thoughts on the end times and hell and the mark of the beast. Also painted a possible picture of what hell could be like. It put a real feeling that Satan and his cohorts are real and nasty. Great book, loved it."

-- Mike Snow, Amazon 5-Star Review

"A great depiction of the struggle in the End of Times. I received a free copy of this book to read and a request to leave an honest review. This book has every bit as much action as The Omega Gambit. It is certainly darker, especially with the author's description of Hell, which is very fitting. You can feel the despair and misery as events unfold, and can also feel the harmony and peace in the description of the new Earth. This really completes the series by taking the reader through the ultimate triumph of good over evil, event by event."

"A Fictional Biblical-based Account of the Challenge of Freewill. En Passant is the sequel to the Omega Gambit by David Alan Brown. The two-part series is a science-fiction characterization of the battle between good and evil following the Bradford Family in the not-so-distant future. The first, Omega Gambit, is a vivid depiction leading to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. The sequel, En Passant, provides the final battle at the Second Coming and is an incredible portrayal of what the Millennium might entail, describing a parallel universe of existence for the righteous and the wicked. Depictions of the two resurrections, the first of life eternal at the Second Coming, and the second at the end of the thousand years as Lucifer seeks to find release from the prison of the bottomless pit; the parallel universes of existence seem to be about to collide in a Cosmic Conflict. The representations of both coexistent ‘worlds’ by this author are breath-taking and mind boggling. The heavenly New Earth realm of the righteous, the review of the Book of Life, the renewed animal kingdom, the personal accessibility of King Jesus, and dialogue among the Godhead are truly spellbinding. The wastelands of the home of the wicked, Lucifer and his minions as they rise in power from the resurrection of those marked for destruction, are equally incredible. The interweaving plot in the Great Controversy covers the wide range of depth in personal communication, feelings and relationships, as well as dramatic and climactic scenes of violent battle, both spiritual and literal. This story sometimes counts more on speculation than on biblical theology regarding the delineation of timeline and events, but there is no question that the goodness of God’s character in the face of the risky decision to create moral beings of freewill is well represented from the truth as found in Christian Scripture. There will be some scenes that will be uncomfortable for the narrow-reading Christian, but the underlying theme throughout will be an incredible blessing. This ‘hard-to-put-down’ 2-part series by David Alan Brown is highly entertaining and personally challenging at the same time; a great and unique read!"

FOR TWILIT TALES:

"Super fun! I could see it clearly in my mind as I read it. Fast paced, full of action, and tongue in cheek references. Well done! Wonderfully descriptive moments! Fantastic! Thanks!"

-- Jeannette Miller Mickenham, Reedsy Prompts Contributor

"Loved the word play in his epistle on nominative determinism. At first I thought it was set in a Victorian-type past, then when the electric mail service truck rolled up I was sure it was in an alternative timeline, and then sure enough the cell phone led me to the correct era. A very fun romp through time and space."

-- Hannah Barrett, Reedsy Prompts Contributor

"A great story David. Compelling from the very beginning and with a happy ending. What more could you ask!"

-- Alice Richardson, Reedsy Prompts Contributor

"My goodness that was dark -- I loved it! Your descriptions are incredible, and the dialogue is excellent. The treachery and depravity of it all is a satisfying feast. Great story!"

-- Jon Casper, Reedsy Prompts Contributor

"Cool story! Your descriptions are intriguing and vivid and your word choice colorful. I like the idea of taking something that really happened and embellishing it into a story like this. Your voice comes out clearly in your writing, as well—voice is such a hard thing to find, and you nailed it. Nice work, David!"

-- Tommie Michele, Reedsy Prompts Contributor

"I really enjoyed the imagery you described. The story was was excellently plotted. I felt like I went on the journey."

-- M. J. Riv, Reedsy Prompts Contributor

"What a sweet story! A simple one, which is I think what made it so lovable. Love the way the metaphor in the beginning was slipped into casual conversation between news anchors. The characters are relatable and the dialogue realistic. I don't play chess but this story is inspiring me to try it out! Well done!"

-- Racheli Berkowitz, Reedsy Prompts Contributor

"This was certainly rather thought provoking indeed and I love the flow of it. May I ask how you know so much about science? You’ve written this in such a way to show you have much knowledge on the subject, as it is well written and clear enough to understand somewhat for non-sciencey persons."

-- C. J. Loren, Reedsy Prompts Contributor

"This is insane. Like, insane. You are an amazing writer. The ending nearly knocked me over, it was so freaky and detailed. You did a great job!"

-- "Helpless," Reedsy Prompts Contributor

"Wow! I was not expecting that ending! That was a good twist, I liked it. At the beginning, when the character didn't seem too upset about her missing brother I thought that was off but with the end that all makes sense now. That was a good hint. I also like the reference to the "Amazonian woman" strength a couple of times, that added to my vision of the character quite well. The smells of the carnival acting as a trigger was a good detail too."

-- Sam Reeves, Reedsy Prompts Contributor

"Thank You for the good story and the courage to include Jesus. I thought about how to approach truth to the government, and I didn't believe I was up to it. You did a very good job."

-- Bonnie Clarkson, Reedsy Prompts Contributor

"Hi David, I really enjoyed your story, and 100% agree that with so much happening here the word count limits you. The descriptions are well done, and I thought the pacing in terms of revealing the doctor was excellent. The delay built suspense, but not so delayed that it became tedious; then when he's revealed as a nice and interesting man this really lulls us into a false sense of ease to set up the twist(s). Once the twists start happening, it's a real rollercoaster ride. I liked that the twists kept happening; I especially liked that despite being killed he wanted her to complete the ceremony, and I liked the 'forlorn statue' description, which lets the reader infer the ceremony would've worked. Great story and happy writing!"

-- Andrew Krey, Reedsy Prompts Contributor

"I'm not usually fond of Westerns, but I found Betrayal at the Border to be an interesting read, especially how it ends. Your writing is impeccable with vivid images. Thank you for the history lesson as well. I've got to say, you've put me in a bind, David. My TBR is long and I just had to add another book, bumping a few down the list. It's called The Omega Gambit. Great job! "

-- Trina Ann Pion, Reedsy Prompts Contributor

"This story pulled me in because of its title [and it] had a beautiful twist. I wasn't expecting anything, and suddenly everyone is a vampire! There were no grammatical/spelling errors and your word choice flowed and was amazing. I'd like to write this well someday. Bravo. Encore."
